Nova Southeastern University Campaign Wins Best of Show for the Second Time

The 26th Annual Educational Advertising Awards, the largest academic ad awards competition in the U.S. awarded Tinsley and NSU a total of 16 distinctions plus Best of Show. In this year’s competition, Tinsley’s work for NSU went up against 2,500 entries from 1,000 institutions from all 50 states. The work represents an evolved, phase two effort designed to dovetail with NSU’s 2007 campaign launch which also won numerous awards plus a Best of Show.

Judges for the awards event consisted of a national panel of higher education marketers, advertising creative directors, marketing and advertising professionals and the editorial board of Higher Education Marketing Report.

It speaks to the huge effort invested by our advertising agency partner, Tinsley Advertising and the University’s marketing team, who collaborated to come up with a highly effective campaign.”

Dorn Martell, Tinsley’s EVP, Creative Director said “It’s a pretty tall order to create a campaign that resonates with undergrads, graduate students, faculty, parents and the Educational Advertising Awards as well. We’re very pleased that the NSU campaign has been recognized and that kids show up at events singing the song from the spots.”

The ongoing campaign is an integrated mix of media targeted against cross-generational audiences and is credited with having built awareness for NSU’s undergraduate and graduate programs while driving enrollments in Florida and beyond.

NSU has most successful open house in its history.

The results are in and it’s official. Nova Southeastern University’s campus-wide open house Oct. 23rd and 24th was a huge success. With 3,177 RSVPs and 2,148 attendees NSU broke previous records, driving more potential students to their Ft. Lauderdale/Davie campus than ever before. Nearly 300 people participated in the financial aid information sessions and over 600 people took campus tours. Online activity also exceeded expectations with over 4,000 click-throughs.
Our campaign strategy began with 2 weeks of new image advertising (Grad and Undergrad TV) followed by 3 weeks of new tactical advertising (Campus-Wide Open House and Financial Aid TV) supported by radio, internet and print advertising as well as social media. The success of this event proves that a consistent brand message delivered over multiple platforms is the most robust strategy for reaching potential students.

New TV Spots for Nova Southeastern University

Tinsley Advertising has just launched a new series of TV commercials for Nova Southeastern University, harnessing the agency’s powerful “Do what you want to do, be what you want to be” anthem with testimonials from real NSU students who are truly doing what they want to do and being what they want to be. The new spots, lensed by Chicago’s One World Productions and scored by Hollywood, Florida’s Audacity Recording, are part of Tinsley’s three-year old “Your Future. Your Terms.” campaign for NSU, which has helped the university achieve the highest awareness levels in their 40 year history, and generated an average of 1,500 attendees at each of their semi-annual Campus-Wide Open House events.

Nova’s brand campaign was just recognized in two major awards competitions.

The Admissions Advertising Awards, the largest educational awards competition in the U.S. and The American Advertising Federation’s Addy Awards, the ad industry’s highly-respected creative shootout, issued top citations to NSU in multiple categories including Best of Show.

The Admissions Advertising Awards criteria is based on both marketing results and creative excellence and Addy’s are bestowed for the most compelling and creative advertising.NSU’s new campaign won a total of 12 distinctions including Best of Show in the Admissions Advertising Awards which included over 2,000 entries from over 1,000 institutions from all 50 states and several foreign countries.

Five NSU awards were garnered in this year’s Addy Awards Miami event which recognized the best work for top brands including Fortune 500 firms.
