Tinsley wins again for The Florida Keys!

By John Underwood

At the 49th Annual Governor’s Conference on Tourism in Orlando, Tinsley received five Flagler awards for our creative work done to promote our partner, The Florida Keys & Key West. The annual Flagler Awards are named after developer and railroad pioneer Henry Flagler, and were established by Visit Florida in 2000 to recognize excellence in the Florida tourism marketing industry.

We won the Henry for our Direct Marketing efforts that was an electronic campaign targeting New Yorkers to come in the Fall. We also won four more Flagler awards in the following categories: Radio Advertising, Television Advertising, Mobile Marketing and Print Advertising.

“Tinsley and The Florida Keys & Key West have consistently won Henrys and multiple finalist awards each year since the inception of the competition 16 years ago,” said The Monroe County TDC Director, Harold Wheeler. Our marketing programs continue to be recognized as among the best in Florida, but even more important is the effectiveness in developing sustainable tourism for the Keys.”

Tinsley has also been named the official Agency of Record for The Florida Keys & Key West after an RFP and Creative presentation over the summer. Tinsley was honored to be retained by the Keys, an account Tinsley has grown since winning it in 1986. We continue to be proud of our partnership with The Florida Keys & Key West and the many successes we have shared-together.

Tinsley wins a “Henry” for Monroe County’s LGBT campaign.

Henry Flagler would be proud and a little shocked if he were at the Governor’s Conference last week in Boca Raton. Tinsley was awarded the prestigious Henry Award for our ongoing LGBT campaign for The Florida Keys & Key West. The Flagler Awards, sponsored by Visit Florida, recognize outstanding tourism marketing and the vision, perseverance, imagination and commitment of the Florida pioneer Henry Flagler. The campaign is a multi media effort and the three ads that won are as follows:

“You’ll be up all night”, “Breakfast with Tiffany” and “Comfort zone”.

Tinsley also won three bronze Flaglers for other aspects of The Florida Keys & Key West advertising campaign.

“It is gratifying to know the TDC’s promotional efforts continue to be recognized as among the best in Florida,” said TDC Director Harold Wheeler. “But more importantly, they continue to produce measurable results in maintaining a sustainable visitor industry for The Florida Keys.”

We are very honored to add another Henry to our large collection and we continue to be grateful to the Monroe County TDC for having the vision and spirit that allows us to do work that is fun and effective.

Tinsley Meets Charlie

By Rick Blitman

The Juggernaut began in March, when Tinsley Advertising took home 37 Awards at the American Advertising Federation of Miami’s 53rd annual Addy Awards. Last night, it culminated in a Charlie…the highest honor given by the 4th District of the American Advertising Federation.

The Charlie Award represents the best work in a variety of categories, and Tinsley was recognized for Best of Television, for our Florida Keys & Key West Campaign.

Great work does not happen without great clients, and we’re fortunate to enjoy a tremendous partnership with the Monroe County TDC, including Director Harold Wheeler, the District Advisory Committees and the Fishing, Diving and Cultural Umbrellas of The Florida Keys & Key West.

On a side note, the Monroe County Tourist Development Council was recognized by the Board of County Commissioners for their great contribution to the success of the Florida Keys as a world class destination. TDC Chair Rita Irwin was kind enough to recognize Tinsley, Newman PR and Fla-keys.com at the presentation in Marathon yesterday. Thanks Rita, the BOCC and AdFed!

Tinsley is honored by the Key West Business Guild

By Dorn Martell

Tinsley Advertising was honored Wednesday at the Key West Business Guild luncheon with a beautiful statuette. I was lucky to attend and it was great to see so many friends and to feel the excitement as Key West Pride 2012 kicks off. We’ve been so fortunate to have The Monroe County Tourist Development Council (“The Florida Keys & Key West”) and the LGBT community as clients for so many years and have won more awards for this target than any other in the agency’s history.

A heartfelt thanks goes out to Harold Wheeler, Monroe County TDC Director; George Fernandez, Monroe County TDC; Jon Allen, Key West District Advisory Chairman; Rebecca Tomlinson, Executive Director of the Key West Business Guild; Steve Smith, Outreach Director of the Key West Business Guild; Darren Paugh, President of the Key West Business Guild and all the members of both the Key West Business Guild & the Key West District Advisory Committee.

We love working for you all and look forward to creating great marketing for Key West for years to come.
